The Salesians of Don Bosco, Kolkata province looks after St. John’s School Bandel, Bandel Church and Don Bosco School Bandel. Bandel Basilica is a historical monument situated on the banks of the river Hooghly. St. John’s School at Bandel is a Bengali medium school affiliated to the State Board of West Bengal.
Don Bosco Bandel is the largest educational complex in the district. The school building comprises multiple wings that house the junior section, the senior section, the auditorium, the library and staff rooms, the assembly hall, the A.V room, the seminary hall, the seminary, etc. The aim of the institution is to impart sound value based education by forming in the boys habits of piety, virtue, discipline and self-reliance during the years of their studies. Don Bosco School, Bandel, or DBB, is an all-boys, English medium school established in 1978.
